How to Set Up KeepMyMail
Last updated: 2026-03-28
KeepMyMail automatically checks your other email accounts and delivers new messages straight into your Gmail inbox. Setting it up takes about two minutes.
Step 1: Sign in with Google
Click Sign in with Google on the KeepMyMail homepage. This opens Google’s sign-in page where you log in with the Gmail account where you want your other emails to appear.
Google will ask you to grant KeepMyMail permission to deliver email into your Gmail. We can only add new messages — we cannot read, modify, or delete anything in your Gmail. Learn more about what permissions we need and why.
Step 2: Add your email account
Once signed in, click Add Mailbox from your dashboard. You’ll need the following information about the email account you want KeepMyMail to check:
- Your email address — the address you want to pull email from (for example,
name@yourdomain.com) - Your email password — the password you use to log into that email account. Some email providers (like Gmail, Yahoo, and iCloud) require an “app password” instead of your regular password.
- Your email server — the address of your email provider’s server (for example,
mail.yourdomain.com).
Not sure about your server settings or password type? Find the exact settings for your email provider — we have guides for Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, GoDaddy, Namecheap, OVH, and more.
After filling in the details, click Test Connection to make sure everything works. If the test succeeds, save your mailbox.
Step 3: You’re done!
That’s it. KeepMyMail will now automatically check your email account on a regular schedule:
- Free plan: every 4 hours
- Pro plan: every hour
New emails from your other account will appear in your Gmail inbox just like they used to when Gmail had its built-in email checking feature.
Need to check more often? You can click Sync Now on your dashboard anytime for an immediate check, or use the KeepMyMail Gmail Add-on to trigger a check without leaving Gmail. For faster automatic checking, consider upgrading to the Pro plan.
Where to find your imported emails
Imported emails appear in your Gmail inbox like any other email. If you set a Gmail label when adding your mailbox, you can also find them under that label in Gmail’s sidebar.
Checking your sync status
Visit your Dashboard in KeepMyMail to see when each mailbox was last checked, how many emails were delivered, and whether there were any issues. You can also click Sync Now to trigger an immediate check at any time.
